The Michael Miller Memorial Foundation is very dear to me. About 10 years ago I became friends with Tracy when Michael and my oldest son Austin were playing jr. Bearcat rocket football. Tracy then came to work in my classroom at valley view. We quickly became the best of friends, and part of each other’s families. I was devastated when I learned of Michael’s cancer diagnosis.
After Michael passed, I wanted to do something to honor his life and his name. I asked Tracy if we could take cinch sacs filled with games and toys for the kids who are admitted at Motts Children’s’ Hospital. This was our first endeavor to do good in Michael’s name, and Big Mike’s Saks for Life was born.
When tracy asked me if I wanted to be on the board of directors for the foundation, I was honored. My hope is that one day we will help fund a program that finds a cure for childhood cancer.
