Casting Hope for a Cure
What is Casting Hope for a Cure?
An annual fishing tournament held in Michael’s honor, the Casting Hope for a Cure Charity Fish Off has become our signature event, and proceeds from the event have allowed us to donate more than $20,000 to The Koschmann Lab, at the University of Michigan. The Koschmann Lab’s work in precision medicine pushes the boundaries of targeted therapies and precision diagnostics for children diagnosed with these brain tumors and they strive towards improving outcomes and providing hope for children fighting these devastating diseases.
Before Michael passed away, he was invited as a special guest at the fishing tournament, whose proceeds went to fighting cancer. Our organization wanted to do the same thing for other children battling cancer. Each year we invite 3 special kids to be our “fishing stars” of the day – and spoil them with gifts and a day of fun on the lake. We have games and activities for the kids, as well as raffle prizes for people to enter to win, with all proceeds going to help fight childhood cancer.
The general public can sign up to enter the tournament, with proceeds going to our organization.
